My memories of thanksgiving are probably different than most in the south. It was my aunt and grandmother getting up at 4:oo am to put a turkey in the oven with bread stuffing in it. My grandfather sending my parents around town chasing pumpernickel, rye and sourdough bread to eat leftover turkey on. My other aunt making chocolate, pumpkin, mince meat pies. And entering the house fussing about how cold it was but yelling at the top of her lungs HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!! Eating stuffed celery with cheese and mixed nuts we cracked ourselves before the bird came out of the oven. My cousin Christa running around with olives on her fingers. And watching the snow fall as we wished we could go out and play and get away from the aunt fussing at each other. We finally sport our boots and snow jackets and go throw snowballs at each other. We don't eat until 2:00 in the afternoon and we are starving and cold. After dinner we sit around and watch football and pippi longstocking movies and eat turkey again about 7:00 on the bread I mentioned earlier. And my parents and grandparents and aunts played cards way into the night as I fell asleep on the couch. What was your childhood thanks giving like????? I hope you have a HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!!!!!!!
