To quote an ole country song..........................
"They don't make them like my daddy anymore.
Yes they've throw away the pattern through the years
In this great big land of Freedom
At a time we really need 'em
They don't make them like my daddy anymore"
HIP HIP HOORAY HE IS 73 TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was born in Jackson Country Florida on 1-25-35. He is a proud honest country boy. He has worked as a sharecropper, logger, mechanic, appliance repair man, truck driver and was in the Air Force in Korea. He loves his family & country. He keeps everything he buys!!!! No really everything!!!!! I used a hand mixer yesterday to make his birthday cake that is at least as old as I am. But they don't make things like they used to he says. I agree from appliances to cars everything now is made to be disposable. We have been shopping for a new washer and dryer . We have looked at websites, chat boards and talked with several repairmen. All of them say the same thing. Buy one that is big enough to do what you want for the least amount of money because they are only made to last 5-7 years now. WOW!!!! My dad kept his washer and dryer at least 20 years. Not to mention all other appliances, cars and clothes. No one can seem to balance making something of quality now with affordability. As anyone who come in his house will see he takes special care of all his things. He still has a stereo record player and all the southern gospel records you could imagine. He has a drawer full of handkerchiefs and would give one to away to anyone who needs it. He has a belt buckle collection some of which are at least 50 years old. He takes pride in keeping up his belongings. He gets on to us for not taking care of things like outdoor grills we have been through 3 in 15 years he has had the same one for at least 25 years. He has garden hoses that are older than that. And they still work . Go figure????? All this to say I am blessed to have a great daddy.and they don't make 'em like my daddy anymore.
We have had a hard three months dad and I but, God is reminding me that he still has something to teach me through this man.
So "I will praise the Lord with all my heart, I will tell about all the miracles He has done, I will be glad and full of joy because of you, Most High God I will sing praise to you" Psalms 9:1-2
