Flat Stanley

The Thinker had a school project in which a cardboard cut out of a boy
named Flat Stanley came home one day and we had to interact with
him. This was a homework assignment for the whole grade. Well for those
of you that do not know the story of Flat Stanley a bulletin
board fell on him in his sleep and he became flat. This book is about
his adventures being flat. We as parents were asked to carry flat
Stanley
to work and take photos of his adventures. We were also asked to write
a letter to the class about his time at work with us. I think our Stanley
had the best adventures of all. He got to go to the dentist, he got to
go to a big company and go up in a bucket truck on the side of a big
building. He got to meet the state president of the big company who knew
him from a previous encounter with his own children. Stanley even got
his picture made with a local police officer.
My point is who learned something here??? Did she because
she colored him and cut him out??? Does she learn about what her
parents do at work?? I hope she is proud of who we are as a family and
proud to share the letters but I am not sure of the learning activity
here. If any of you are teachers out there and can clarify please do. Do
not misunderstand me we had fun doing this but, I venture to guess
some families did not and some may not have the family structure to
complete this task. that makes me sad for those kids. Just one of my
random ramblings that I would love the input of others.

For
those with questions from my last post J is someone who is not on my
list of people who read my blog. She works in an office where she has
to wear business clothes often withpanty hose. And Aren't panty hose just that PANTY hose??? It depends whether I use them as just that or not. Don't you??? Especially in hot whether why double up???

Now, see, you are asking the WRONG person those questions! :) I think Flat Stanley is very cute. And I think that project was probably fun. But I am with you...I don't see where anyone could have learned anything from that...and it probably was frustrating for some of those parents and kids. Like I said...you are asking the wrong person that question, so I won't say any more about it! haha
